My name is Lynnita Brabson, and I\u2019m here to share both my work and my life to help others navigate one of life\u2019s most important chapters\u2014retirement.

As a U.S. military veteran, I bring the same sense of discipline, service, and dedication that guided me in uniform to my mission today: helping retirees and their loved ones understand how to use financial tools and housing options to their advantage\u2014creating stability, independence, and peace of mind.

My understanding of \u201chome\u201d started early. Growing up as a military child and experiencing my parents\u2019 divorce, I learned how important stability, peace, and having a place to call your own truly are. Like many, I was a latchkey kid with a hardworking mother\u2014but our home was always filled with love. Those early experiences shaped the heart behind everything I do today.

My journey into this work has been shaped by both life experience and a deep desire to help others navigate life\u2019s biggest transitions.

After coming off active duty military service in 2005, I found my way into the housing industry, becoming a reverse mortgage housing counselor in 2008. For over a decade, I worked closely with seniors from all walks of life\u2014teachers, doctors, homemakers, mechanics, pilots, engineers, and pastors\u2014each with their own story, plans, and challenges.

What I learned during those years has stayed with me: no matter how much we plan, life can change in an instant.

I saw firsthand how overwhelming it can be to make decisions about home, finances, and daily living during retirement. Many people weren\u2019t lacking options\u2014they were lacking clear, honest guidance and practical tools to move forward with confidence and peace of mind.

Around 2019, I stepped away from counseling, passing the work on to my mother, whom I had previously trained to become a certified housing counselor. She continues to support seniors in this space today. While my role shifted, my connection to this work never did.

I later expanded into building and land development, gaining a deeper understanding of housing from another perspective. That experience revealed an important gap\u2014 especially when it comes to protecting seniors in construction, contracting, and home-related decisions. It\u2019s one of the reasons I\u2019m so passionate about providing resources that help seniors stay informed, safe, and empowered when it comes to their homes.

Along the way, I also became a mother to two beautiful children\u2014a daughter and a son\u2014who continue to shape how I view the future, family, and the importance of planning ahead.

All of these experiences led me to create My Home, My Retirement, as part of my broader vision with All My Retirement\u2014because retirement isn\u2019t just one thing. It\u2019s home, health, finances, lifestyle, and everything in between.
